Sentenced to death on the NHS

And THIS is what Sarah Palin has been talking about.

http://www.telegraph.co.uk/health/healthnews/6127514/Sentenced-to-death-on-the-NHS.html

Patients with terminal illnesses are being made to die prematurely under an NHS scheme to help end their lives, leading doctors have warned.

Look people, under a national healthcare system, this is inevitable!

The government will need to control costs and so will end up having to ration money for procedures. Terminally ill patients with no hope of recovery (like Ted Kennedy) will no be treated since it will be deemed "a waste of resources". They will be made comfortable and kept sedated. And since they have no hope for recovery, it will also be inevitable that this will happen:

Under NHS guidance introduced across England to help doctors and medical staff deal with dying patients, they can then have fluid and drugs withdrawn and many are put on continuous sedation until they pass away.

Read that again. Doctors and medical staff can withhold water and medication until the patient dies.

“As a result a national wave of discontent is building up, as family and friends witness the denial of fluids and food to patients."

Now read this last paragraph, and if it doesn't send chills up your spine then there's something wrong with you!

Many people receive excellent care at the end of their lives. We are investing £286 million over the two years to 2011 to support implementation of the End of Life Care Strategy to help improve end of life care for all adults, regardless of where they live.”

Instead of funding research for new treatments or meds, they are willing to spend almost $500,000,000 to help end peoples lives.
