Memorial Day

Although we should do it all the time, often we don't. We are too busy with our daily lives, we get caught up in things that we think are important that are really meaningless.

On this day of picnics and parades, take a moment to remember what this day is for. Think of those away from their families, who would love to be sitting in their backyard with a burger and a beer, playing with their children.

Today, take the time to thank a Vet. All of us, liberal or conservative, Democrat or Republican or Libertarian, the reason that we can have these differing opinions is because others have died for the freedoms we enjoy.

Take a moment, bow your head thank those who have fallen.

For our Country, our Flag, our Freedom.

For You.

Remember.

"It is the Soldier, not the minister
Who has given us freedom of religion.
It is the Soldier, not the reporter
Who has given us freedom of the press.
It is the Soldier, not the poet
Who has given us freedom of speech.
It is the Soldier, not the campus organizer
Who has given us freedom to demonstrate.
It is the Soldier, not the lawyer
Who has given us the right to a fair trial.
It is the Soldier, not the politician
Who has given us the right to vote.
And it is the Soldier who salutes the flag,
Who serves beneath the flag,
And whose coffin is draped by the flag,
Who allows the protester to burn the flag."

Charles M. Province, U.S. Army
